Our Program
"Rising Above the Challenges of the World as We Lead Young Children to Be Their Best Selves!" Rising Leader Academy is a private early childhood program that provides quality early childhood care and education to children ages 2-6. Rising Leader Academy was founded by Amber Craig in February 2021 in Mecklenburg County, NC. Ms. Craig had the vision to provide a nurturing environment fit for a diverse population of preschool students that provided exceptional care and education to prepare them for primary school and life.
Ms. Craig has always had a passion for children. Motivated by her struggles as a single parent who strived to be self-sufficient with three sons, Ms. Craig wanted to be a resource for other parents like her. She wanted parents to feel like Rising Leader Academy was the solution to their parenting challenges when it came to having the adequate support necessary to be successful working parents.
After working in the field of Education for over 18 years, Ms. Craig decided to turn her dream into reality and start Rising Leader Academy. Rising Leader Academy’s purpose is to provide quality care and education for children ages 2 through 6 with flexible hours in a safe, nurturing environment. Rising Leader Academy will allow parents to feel secure about leaving their children in the hands of others. We provide consultation for parents to help preschoolers develop socially, emotionally, and academically including navigating through challenging behaviors and potty training. These are trying times for parents and we are here to ease your burdens.
About The Owner
Hello parents of rising leaders! My name is Amber Craig. I am the founder and owner of Rising Leader Academy. I am an Early Childhood Educator and Specialist certified by the State of North Carolina with a Level 12. I also have a Level III Administrator Equivalency certified by the NCDHHS Division of Child Development and Early Education and have completed BSAC (Basic School-Age Care) training. I have a Master of Education in Teacher Leadership, B.B.A. in Entrepreneurship, and an A.S. in Child & Family Studies with a minor in Child Development. In addition, I have my Infant/Toddler Montessori Certification. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I have been in the field of Education for 18 plus years with 10 plus years of experience as a Montessori Educator. I have 3 sons, two of whom are adults now.
I became an educator because I wanted to make a difference in the world by creating a positive impact in the lives of others. My ability to promote empathy in children and encourage positive behavior has proven to be an asset in the field of education. You can learn so much from children just by allowing them to learn in a way that works best for them and embracing who they truly are. My priority is to keep your child safe and happy while in my care. I have designed this mobile care and education program as a stepping stone to moving Rising Leader Academy into a facility in the future. I am looking forward to getting to know you all and working with your rising leaders.
